Iran’s Ties in Latin American Region Pose Threat to U.S. Security, Ros-Lehtinen Says at Hearing

Chairman Ros-Lehtinen convened a Committee hearing on Iranian activity in the Western Hemisphere by warning of the potential for the Iranian regime to use its increased regional ties, including ties to extremist groups operating in the region, as a platform from which to attack the United States. The hearing comes days after Director of National Intelligence James Clapper testified to Congress that Iranian officials are “now more willing to conduct an attack in the United States."
